Lalamilo Housing and Kawaihae Road Improvements

Lalamilo Housing Phase 2A, Increment 1 (Part I) and Kawaihae Road Improvements at South Kohala Distribution Road (Part II)
Department of Hawaiian Home Lands (DHHL)
Waimea, South Kohala, Island of Hawaii, Hawaii

The Lalamilo Housing Phase 2A, Increment 1 (Part I) project is an 83-lot development consisting of single-family residential lots, a HELCO substation, an archaeological preservation lot, and a community park. The Kawaihae Road Improvements require intersection improvements at these roadways. Site improvements include the South Kohala Distribution Road widening, 50-ft wide right-of-way asphalt concrete paved roads with curbs and gutters, 7-foot wide concrete sidewalks, water lines, and drainage systems with drywells.

CP&E served as the prime design consultant for Parts I and II of the Lalamilo Housing Development, and is currently providing post design services for this project. The scope of services includes engineering, processing of all applicable permits, and coordinating work with applicable federal, state, and county agencies.
