Kapolei Parkway Extension

Kapolei Parkway is a 4-lane divided roadway that includes all major utilities such as water, sewer, drainage, electrical, and telecommunication systems, and provides access to DHHL’s East Kapolei I residential development. This project consisted of the portion of Kapolei Parkway Extension running from Kapolei Parkway Bridge to the Kualakai Parkway intersection. CP&E was responsible for the topographic survey, subdivision mapping, geotechnical investigation, electrical/telecommunications system, and miscellaneous structural design.

Lono Avenue Rehabilitation, Kamehameha Avenue to Laau Street

CP&E was responsible for the engineering design and construction management for this federally-funded road rehabilitation project. The Rehabilitation of this 2-lane roadway between Kamehameha Avenue and Laau Street will benefit the residents and schools in the surrounding area.

CP&E prepared construction documents including plans, specifications, and cost estimates in accordance with the HDOT Highways standards for Federal-Aid and Design Guidelines for Rehabilitation, Restoration and Resurfacing (RRR) Projects. This required close coordination and adherence to applicable rules, regulations and guidelines for the HDOT Highways, FHWA, multiple state and county agencies, and applicable utility companies. CP&E completed all tasks ahead of schedule and all projects received Federal funding and remained on schedule for construction.

Mililani Interchange Traffic Study

CP&E was contracted to collect traffic data, simulate traffic and propose various alternatives to improve traffic flow in a comprehensive Traffic Evaluation Study. Working with Austin, Tsutsumi & Associates, Inc., CP&E will assess existing conditions and develop preliminary transportation alternatives to initiate consultation efforts with government agencies and community groups.  The team will prepare and evaluate various alternatives and develop traffic projections and analysis for the current, intermediate and design years of each alternative. CP&E is responsible for preparing conceptual designs and cost estimates for each alternative, a report summarizing the completed work and possible recommendations, and arranging and conducting public informational meetings.
